How We Work
At A&R Design we believe in total customer satisfaction and we will not settle for anything less. Over the years we have carefully developed our way of working with our clients, to ensure that you get the result you want.
The complete package:
We know that most people live very busy and hectic lives and therefore may not have the time or experience to take on the complex project management involved in property refurbishment. That’s where we come in – we provide a complete package, taking care of the many and varied aspects of your project from the design stage to completion.
This will include hiring the correct trades-people for the job, sourcing the appropriate materials at a reasonable price, making sure the different trades-people are on site at the right time and in the right order, and solving any issues as they arise. We also work with a Consultant Architect, who you may wish to use to provide the necessary plans and technical drawings (although you are of course welcome to use a different architect of your choice if you prefer).
The complete package that we provide means that we can take the stress, strain and inconvenience out of your project, allowing you to continue with your daily life safe in the knowledge that your home is in good hands.
All our work is carried out by our experienced team of professionally accredited tradesmen, including carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tilers, plasterers and decorators. This ensures only the highest possible level of work is produced for your project and that once completed it will pass all relevant current regulations.
Our extensive experience over many years enables us to ensure that our clients get value for money in all elements of the job in hand, and can be confident that their project will be completed to a high standard, on time and within budget.
This is backed up by our Peace of Mind Promise.
We pride ourselves on our considerate approach and attention to detail, and we will work with both you and your family to ensure that all works carried out will cause as little disruption as possible to your daily lives and, once finished, give you a home that both you and we will be proud of.
Peace of mind promise:
We take great pride in ensuring that all our customers are really happy with the service we provide, and we are always pleased to provide references upon request.
Customer satisfaction and peace of mind is paramount to us and therefore we allow all our clients to hold back 3% of the original quoted price until they are completely sure that all the work has been finished to their satisfaction, and any outstanding matters have been dealt with. This ensures that you can have full confidence and peace of mind from the very start to the completion of your project.
You have the added reassurance of knowing that all our work is backed by our insurers, as are our guarantees and warranties.
Realizing your vision:
Through our many years of experience we have learnt that each customer’s needs are different and each individual has their own vision and sense of style. We take the time to make sure we fully understand your vision so that we can bring it to life.
We appreciate that different people have very different views on the way in which they want to work with us, and the level of involvement they want to have. We will take the time to understand your own views. This means that we can work in the way that suits you best, whether you have a strong vision of exactly what you want, and are looking forward to choosing each little detail from the exact shade of paint to the exact shape of your door handles, or whether you just have an overall view of the end result but really want us to take all the little niggling decisions on details away from you, and only consult you about the major choices. It’s entirely up to you.
Meeting and consultation
We start by meeting you to talk through your project. We will always listen carefully and make sure we understand fully what you want to achieve.
If appropriate, we will put you in touch with our Consultant Architect, who can provide you with all the necessary plans and technical drawings. You may of course prefer to use your own architect.
Estimate and approval
Once we have established your requirements (and obtained plans from the architect if appropriate) we will give you an estimate, for your approval.
Once you have approved the estimate, we will work with you to create a design for your space, focusing on your needs and requirements, including how you intend to use the space, and your vision of how you would like the room to look. We can then provide you with a firm quotation.
We will meet with you shortly before the start date to talk through the designs, and ensure you are happy with all aspects of the planned work. This includes providing you with a detailed schedule of works, including dates, which we will review with you.
We know that many people have concerns about the disruption that building work will have on their home environment and family life. We will do everything we can to minimize this disruption. This may include extra touches like the creation of temporary facilities such as kitchen or toilets where appropriate.
Throughout the project we will keep talking to you, to make sure you are happy. This means we can be sure that any problems are sorted out straight away, and that we stay on track with realizing your vision, and keeping within the agreed timescales and budget.
Finishing the project
Once the project is finished:
- We will give a full clean to all the areas of the property we have been working in or using for access.
- We will give you the full pack of paperwork, including all relevant certificates and warranties.
- We will discuss the work with you to ensure you are happy with everything that has been done, and agree a list of outstanding points (if any) which will be completed before the project is completely finished.
In accordance with our ‘Peace of Mind Promise’ we always allow you to hold back 3% of the original quoted price until you are completely sure that all the work has been finished to your satisfaction, and any outstanding matters have been dealt with.
